A Day of Social Distancing and Quarantine during COVID-19

Family day out during coronavirus

Our World is a weird place right now..... it is silent, empty, confusing.. and failing. What do you do in a World that has practically shut down? We take for granted our day-to-day errands, cleaning, grocery shopping and dragging our kids to the park to wear them out.

Now, most of us are quarantined or on stay-at-home orders. Who would have thought that in 2020? I want a redo of how this year has begun, it's just not fair! How is your family dealing with the virus and all of the shutdowns currently in the World?

I am home with my daughter, she is 5 and it is absolutely killing her that we can't go and be social! She gets that from me! I never considered myself a 'social butterfly', but since I became a mother and a photographer, that has changed. I do love being at home and there are days I just want to stay home! But when you are forced to stay home and so is everyone around you, you feel trapped.

As a photographer, I felt the need to get behind the lens, to create some magic, to continue memories in a time that has stood still. I took my little family of 3 out to a beautiful park I had been told about and wanted to capture beauty. I wanted time to stand still, but on my own terms!

Shooting at these gorgeous ruins with a brand new dress from Little Dreamers Tutus was absolute heaven. I used my Sigma 135mm art lens, so I was able to shoot from about 50 feet away and enjoy all the beauty. It is important in times when so many things are forced upon us with rules and restrictions, that we continue to do things that we love and that we keep our norm as much as possible! Here are a few shots from my chilly day at the park with a gown, some headpieces and some amazing architecture!
